As students well know, a good (if dishonest) way to reach an assigned page count for a paper is to fudge the spacing. Some ...
text you want single-spaces, other things you want double-spaced. There may even be times when you want something in the middle. Microsoft Word 2007 has you covered with lots of options.

Hi, this is Michael Callahan, “Dr. File Finder” and welcome to your Butterscotch Account Tutorial on how to adjust line spacing in Word 2007.
Sometimes you need a document double space for a term paper, other times you might wanted space thing single space or maybe something in between and word as you covered. So here in Word 2007, on the home tab of the ribbon, look over here for an icon that looks like some lines with the up and down arrow.
If you click on the arrow right here, you see we’re currently at single spacing but there’s also spacing that goes to 1 ½ somewhere in between, 2, 2 ½, 3. Now, f you just have the cursor on the line and you click here and go to 2, it takes it to this paragraph. If you highlight the entire paragraph and say to go 2, then it makes every line double space. If you want, you can highlight it. You can go to 1 ½, a little bit in between, single spacing and double spacing. Or you can go to triple spacing which really spreads it out.
This is a quick, easy way to adjust the line spacing in Word. There are some options to add a space before a paragraph, add a space after a paragraph, some line spacing options. You can set some basic things about indenting about page breaks and so on.
We’ll cover those in the future tutorial. So this is adjusting the lines spacing in Word and that’s all there is to it.
